Summer Trial 2010

15th to 17th July

2010 will see the third running of the HERO Summer Trial and Classic Car Tour. Judging by the number of early enquiries for entries, the three day event based at one location with no night sections and a road book that novices find easy to follow is a format that appeals to both newcomers to classic rallying and experienced crews.

The 2010 Summer Trial will take place between 15th to 17th July, and crews will be enjoying the hospitality of the White House Hotel in Worcester. Loops into Wales, the Heart of England and Welsh Marches will present crews with a challenging and demanding route but allow competitors to return each night to relax without the need to constantly pack and unpack luggage. On two of the evenings you will have time to explore the area around Worcester and visit some of the many bars and restaurants in the historic city.

Scrutineering and documentation will take place at the new visitors’ centre at the Morgan Factory at Malvern on Wednesday the 14th with a limited number of places being available for evening scrutineering at the hotel. Popular with many crews in 2008 & 2009 were the tours of the Morgan factory. Competitors were surprised and delighted how close to the cars they were allowed to get and how happy the Morgan personnel were to stop work to answer questions. Once again we are delighted to be able to offer this tour during the time set aside for documentation (subject to any restrictions imposed by the factory).

Entry for the 2010 HERO Summer Reliability Trial and Tour is open to cars made before 31st December 1983, and the fee of £1875 (held at 2009 charges) includes accommodation for two sharing a room for the four nights of 14th to 17th July, welcome and prize giving dinners on 14th and 17th July, lunch on the three days of competition, a full tulip road book or map book, rally plates, event souvenirs, and finishers’ awards. The evenings of 15th & 16th July are free for you to explore Worcester and to visit some of the numerous local restaurants and bars.

Vehicles entered in the Reliability Trial will be classed according to age, engine size and vehicle type (i.e. saloon or sport/GT), and as with all HERO events, crews will be competing for Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.

The Classic Car Tour is intended for those looking for a less demanding motoring experience and finisher awards will be presented to all entrants in the Tour who visit the specified controls whilst they are open.
