HERO Cup in association with EFG Private Bankers and Zenith Watches

We are delighted to announce the sixth edition of the HERO Cup in association with EFG Private Bankers and Zenith Watches. The HERO Cup was created to offer those competitors who continuously support HERO with a simple competition offering great prizes. The HERO Cup is unique as no other rally organisation offers anything like it - we thank you for your continued support and look forward seeing you on our events.

First prize:

The most coveted award and richest prize in historic regularity rallying. 2016 will see the overall winner of the  HERO Cup receive a Zenith El Primero Chronomaster Open 1969 HERO Cup Edition as well as a complimentary week sailing on board the S/Y Orianda in May 2017, exact date to be confirmed.

Second prize:

The winner of the second prize will be given two tickets to Salon Prive ’Concours d’Elegance' held in September 2017

Third prize:

The winner of the third prize will receive a £300.00 voucher to be used on the HERO Store herostore.eu  The voucher must be used within 12 months from the issue date of the voucher;


ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible for HERO Cup points, the following rules apply:

  • Registration is automatically triggered when the competitor starts a qualifying event  and by doing so will confirm their acceptance of these 2016 HERO Cup rules

  • The Entrant must compete on the individual events to be able to qualify for HERO Cup points

  • Entrants must be a “HERO Premier Member” and maintain their membership until 31st  December 2016

  • Points are only scored by the individual entrant. The entrants are entitled to use different cars for different events and have different Co-Drivers/Navigators on different events

  • All entrants must compete in a sufficient number of events in order to have started at least six legs by 31st  December 2016; There are no restrictions on the number of events from which HERO Cup points may be claimed

  • In the event of a tie, the Entrant who entered the highest number of events will win

  • If  the above rule does not resolve the tie, the win will go to the Entrant with the highest number of class positions

  • HERO CUP POINTS:

    Each event is broken down into individual legs as follows:

    • Winter Challenge to Monte-Carlo: five

    • Scottish Malts: five

    • Summer Trial : two

    • Royal Automobile Club 1000 Mile Trial: five

    • HERO Challenge: one

    • RAC Rally of the Tests: four

    • LEJOG: five

    Points will be awarded to the Entrant according to the following schedule:

    • One HERO Cup point is awarded for each leg started
    • Two HERO Cup points are awarded for each leg finished

    • Competitors finishing First in Class at the end of an event are awarded five HERO Cup points for each Leg of the event

    • Competitors finishing Second in Class at the end of an event are  awarded four HERO Cup points for each Leg of the event

    • Competitors finishing Third in Class at the end of an event are  awarded three HERO Cup points for each Leg of the event

    • Competitors finishing Fourth in Class at the end of an event are  awarded two HERO Cup points for each Leg of the event

    • Competitors finishing Fifth in Class at the end of an event are  awarded one HERO Cup point for each Leg of the event

    • No HERO Cup points will be awarded for medal and riband holders

    DISPUTES:

    The Organisers reserve the right to adjudicate on any queries raised regarding the allocation of points. A provisional points table will be published on the HERO website within seven days of the end of each qualifying event and entrants will have a further seven days in which to raise any queries. These must be submitted in writing. If necessary, a further set of points will be published which will remain open to query for a further seven days from publication? Once this period has expired the points will be considered final and not subject to any further amendment.

    The award winners will be announced in accordance with the above schedule.

    Should the 2016 HERO Cup prizes not be available to the winners for reasons beyond HERO’s control, HERO reserves the right to change the prizes accordingly and will communicate the new prizes to the individual winners.
