The return of the Iberian Classic will take place in May 2015
The London – Lisbon Classic Reliability Trial and Tour will next take place in May 2015. Starting from the centre of London .
Open to cars made before 31st December 1983. Whether your passion is for the competitive Reliability Trial or the less demanding Classic Car Tour, you will experience wonderful roads, stunning scenery, a warm welcome, good food, and good company along the way.
As with previous London – Lisbon events, there will be two starting points. The second being in France where continental starters will be able to join up with the UK crews on for a run through France to the start of the main competition in Northern Spain. The leg through the UK and the run through France will not count towards the main event but will give crews a chance to practice reading the roadbook and get used to the HERO Jogularity system, whilst enjoying a drive through the stunning scenery of South West France..
Entrants can expect to cover 200/250 miles per day with the route (provisional at this stage) taking crews through the Picos de Europa to Gijon – Oviedo and on to Ponferrada. From there you will travel over the passes and through the valleys to Orense. The next leg will take you into Portugal through the province of Tras o Montes, Vila Real and the Douro Valley.
During the final leg you will be able to stand on the most westerly point of continental Europe.
Competitors on the Reliability Trial will encounter Regularity and Navigation Sections allowing both crew members the chance to enjoy the spectacular scenery of Northern Spain and Portugal. You will also have a chance to test your manoeuvrability skills on driving tests at some of the best kart circuits in Europe.
Crews looking for a less demanding motoring holiday are invited to take part in the Classic Car Tour. Led by a dedicated Tour Marshal, you will be able to take a shorter route enabling you to linger at places of interest. Your goal will be to visit the main controls at the start and finish of each day’s leg, and to join the Trial crews for lunch.
The entry fee includes accommodation and evening meals, lunch on each day of the event, welcome and prize giving dinners, ferry crossing for UK starters,
roadbook, map-book, regalia, numbered door and rally plates and event souvenirs.
Return Transport: We can arrange return transport in a covered or open car transporter from Lisbon, at the end of the event, either to London (the start venue) or to our facility in Kenfig, South Wales. Prices to be confirmed but around £900 uncovered and £1,500 covered. This obviously saves you the time in driving you car back allowing you to fly straight from Lisboa to the UK.
For those without a suitable car, the HERO Arrive and Drive program can help. HERO Assist mechanics will also be in attendance on the event to help anyone who encounters mechanical problems.
