Rent a classic BMW

In 1962, BMW launched the “Neue Klasse” saloons, a range of saloons and coupes that were powered by BMW's celebrated four-cylinder M10 engine, the “Neue Klasse” models featured  fully independent suspension, MacPherson struts in front, and front disc brakes all round. The 1602 was launched in 1966, sharing little in common with the rest of the line beyond the power train, these sporty siblings caught enthusiasts' attention and established BMW as an international leader in the production of “drivers’ cars”. They were famed for their responsive engines, practicality and most of all, their taught, well balanced handling and rear wheel drive.

This 1973 example was found in a state of unapologetic originality in Italy in 2009 and we instantly saw her potential to be the jewel in the Arrive and Drive crown. Such was her potential, that she was used by BMW Park Lane Classics, our HERO partners, as a demonstration of their restoration skills. The results are, we are sure you will agree, stunning. Fully reconditioned both inside and out, she has benefitted from period correct performance upgrades, recommended and installed by BMW themselves including:  a fully MSA compliant rollcage, stripping of the interior and boot for added weight saving, a 5 speed, close ratio gearbox, a limited slip differential, a free flowing sports exhaust, twin choke Webber Carburettors and finally, a set of rare period alloy wheels. This car must be seen, and more importantly driven, to be believed. A perfect car for all events, and a regular competitor on Le Jog, Throckmorton Challenge and the Summer Trial, she gets attention wherever she goes, and more importantly, makes all who drive her grin from ear to ear
