MUST SEE - The story of Le Jog 2009

LE Jog 2009! Lands End to John O'Groats ... the hard way!
Described by the German magazine Motor Klassik as "the hardest rally in the world", Le Jog is like no other motorsport event in the UK. Organised by the Historic Endurance Rallying Organisation (HERO), the combination of nearly 1,500 miles of driving, the unpredictable December weather and a demanding series of tests and regularity sections means that the crews can't afford to relax over the event's three days and two nights.

Le Jog is also particularly challenging in that it only allows entries from classic auto built before December 1983 - in 2009, classic vehicles ranged from a 1931 Bentley to a 1983 Mercedes estate - with entries across the UK, France, Germany. Italy Switzerland and the USA underlining Le Jog's reputation a "something special". There are actually two events within Le Jog: the Reliability Trail and the Touring Trail, with competitors in the second category visiting the main controls, but not completing the tests or regularities.

Whether in the Touring or Reliability events Le Jog is a punishing test of both the crews and their cars. Drivers and navigators have to work as one to plot routes that are often given out minutes before starting. Seemingly innocent looking handling tests around a series of cones can quickly see crews pick up penalties for taking the wrong route, while maintaining an average speed of 30mph on regularity sections demands a combination of mathematics and easgle-eyed clock watching from navigators.

This DVD tells the story of the fifteenth Le Jog which started at Lands End at 7.45am on Saturday, December 5th 2009 and finished at John O'Groats a little over three days later. Whether you're already a convert to this fascinating branch of motorsport of just "like classic auto". you'll quickly be drawn into the struggles to win a coveted Le Jog gold medal and the stories of triumph and disappointment that unfold as the competitors headed from the southernmost point in England to the tip of northern Scotland "the hard way" .....
