Vintage and classic cars – About Hero
HERO is a classic car club recognised by the Royal Automobile Club Motor Sports Association (the MSA - the official governing body for motor sport in the UK, affiliated to the FIA) and, through its membership of the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs, is affiliated to FIVA - the Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens. A classic car endurance rallying club that dates over fifteen years, HERO has organised more than 80 events (trials and tours) especially for classic cars, such as the Icelandic Saga, the London to Lisbon Classic Rally, the Arctic Winter Trial, and the Celtic Malts. However, HERO’s best known and recurring events are:
The Summer Trial (Reliability Trial and Tour): a three-day event that is Perfect for the beginner or seasoned competitor. The Summer Trial usually runs around July;
The Scottish Malts (Reliability Trial and Tour): an opportunity to discover the Heart of Scotland, visit some of the world’s oldest distilleries and explore legendary roads. The Scottish Malts 2010 runs from 6th – 10th September
Le Jog - the ultimate endurance rally - from Land’s End to John O’Groats: a Reliability Trial and Tour arguably considered as the toughest classic car rally in Europe and North America. Le Jog 2010 runs from 4th – 7th December.
The Icelandic SAGA (Reliability Trial): a bi-annual event that promise to take you across some of the most spectacular landscape the world can offer. The Icelandic Saga 2010 has been postponed as a result of the recent volcanic eruptions. Unfortunately more eruptions are expected, making very difficult for HERO to determine alternative dates at this moment. Thank you for your understanding.
