HERO Arrive & Drive Insurance Terms & Conditions

Provided the premium has been paid, by the driver on each event (included in the fee for a Rally Test Experience), all cars & drivers are covered by a comprehensive insurance policy.

Events, Gift/Driving Days, day or more hire:

The insured shall verify the identity and permanent address of the Hirer and any other permitted driver by means other than relying solely on the information contained in the Hirers or drivers driving licence and that such person is not amongst the excluded persons enumerated below.

The insured Vehicle shall not be let out on hire or to be driven by:-

  1. Hirers under 25 or over 70 years of age unless otherwise agreed by insurers
  2. Hirers aged 25 or over unless a full driving licence valid in the United Kingdom or a European or International driving license that is accepted in the UK and  has been held for 12 months.
  3. Persons who have been convicted with an offence in connection with the driving of a motor vehicle or motorcycle and/or have had their driving licence endorsed or suspended or penalty points imposed. Parking and not more than two speeding or traffic light offences in the past 3 years may be ignored. ‘Spent’ convictions, covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 may be disregarded.
  4. Persons who have any mental of physical defect or infirmity or suffers from fits, diabetes or any heart complaint.
  5. Persons who have had their insurance declined and/or renewal refused and/or special insurance terms imposed as a result of claims experience and/or have had their insurance or cover cancelled by any Motor Insurer.
  6. Persons engaged wholly or partly in professional entertainment or professional sports persons
  7. Jockeys and persons connected with racing of any sort.
  8. Undergraduates and/or students under 25 years of age.
  9. Persons who, whilst driving, have been involved in more than one accident during the last 3 years
  10. Foreign Service personnel other than persons born in the United Kingdom.

Any person outside the above parameters will be quoted on a one to one basis by our insurers.

The insured vehicle shall be driven only by the hirer or other permitted driver who has completed and signed a Hirers Proposal Form immediately prior to any hiring.

The insurers form of proposal for Hirer Drive Insurance or as otherwise may specifically agree shall be completed and signed by each Hirer or other permitted driver. Such proposal shall be forwarded immediately to insurers. The proposal form must be completed by the Hirer or other permitted driver in all respects. 

Comprehensive cover carries a £500 excess for cars in group A B C and £1,000 for D and above in  respect of all claims other than Third Party. 

A refundable deposit equal to the excess amount will be taken immediately prior to the hire (on the day of, or the day before) in order to cover the excess should there be any claim or damage following the hire.

Premium as specified for each group - subject to acceptance by the underwriters.

If you cannot meet the above terms please contact us and we will propose you to our insurance providers. 

Note:
Hirers may be responsible for a full claim against them for any damage caused to a vehicle whilst they were driving or in their charge, where the driver was driving without due care and attention, in a dangerous manner, racing against a fellow driver or failed to take instruction or respond from instruction from the HERO appointed navigator which results in an accident.

Rally Test Experience

Provided the experience is carried out on private land then:

All hirers must fully complete an Indemnity immediately prior to the hirer as well as producing  the Hirers or drivers driving licence and that such person is not amongst the excluded persons enumerated below.

The insured Vehicle shall not be let out on hire or to be driven by:-

  1. Any person who is unable to produce a current valid driving licence allowing them to drive on the highway.
  2. Hirers aged 17 or over unless a full driving licence valid in the United Kingdom or a European or International driving license that is accepted in the UK and  has been held for 12 months.
  3. Persons who have been convicted with an offence in connection with the driving of a motor vehicle or motorcycle and/or have had their driving licence endorsed or suspended or penalty points imposed. Comprehensive cover carries a £250 excess in respect of all claims other than Third Party. Certain cars have a £500 excess. Please ask before hiring for specific vehicles.

Claims procedure

Any driver involved in an accident should:

Advise us immediately of the accident or theft and Police crime reference number in order we can expedite the matter with our insurers to thye following contact details:

  1. Obtain names and addresses of witnesses to any  accident involving our vehicle in addition to any third party involved in the accident.
  2. Not make any admission of liability in respect to any accident howsoever caused and must render every assistance to us and our insurers with respect to any proceedings that may be taken. 
  3. Make a written statement and deliver to us, at the above address, within 24 hours of the incident
  4. Not leave the scene of the accident unless necessary in order to receive medical treatment until such time as the vehicle is in the safe custody of HERO Events Limited appointed agent for the purpose of repair or recovery.
  5. Inform us immediately of any fault or failure of a component part of the vehicle.
